Volunteering with your family is a great way to have a family holiday with a difference. You and your kids will learn about the environment while also lending a hand in disadvantaged rural schools.

Family on the Tutuka Family Conservation Experience

“We have had a most wonderful experience thanks to the Tutuka project. We all enjoyed it very much. We had the best guide ever (Don), were looked after and spoilt by Henny and all the people working with him and  felt "at home"... Everything was organised to perfection and we never felt insecure." Anna-Maria Bergmans

Which projects can you join as a family?

If you have kids aged between 8-16 you can join the Tutuka Family Conservation Project. Your family will learn about the unique ecosystems and amazing wildlife of South Africa while conducting real conservation tasks and studies alongside an experience wildlife ranger. During the second part of the Tutuka experience you lend hands-on support to disadvantaged rural schools, helping with maintenance tasks and educating South African school children about looking after their environment.

If your son or daughter is 16-18 years old, you can join most of our other conservation projects together. Just get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to advise you about which projects would be most suitable for you.
