When I was working at Chipangali, there was a huge variety of things to do, from cutting up meat for the carnivores to catching grasshoppers with your hands, to spending time with a baby baboon! I did so many things I never thought I would get the chance to do. It was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. The people there topped off the experience and I have so many good memories, I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone – just thinking about my trip makes me want to go back!
Driving in a jeep around a huge reserve searching for lions, cheetahs, elephants and rhinos every day and getting up close to them was fantastic! As a volunteer I was able to record data to help the researchers monitor the movements of the bigger animals for research purposes, while also getting the chance to experience other events going on at the reserve, such as moving giraffes and cheetahs and treating an injured rhino. The researchers and other volunteers were awesome-
I had an unbelievable experience, I would go back in a flash!
