We are the only organisation of our kind that has been offered membership of ABTA (the Association of British Travel Agents), one of the world’s most recognised quality standards for travel. You can find us on the ABTA member register - our membership number is Y6702.
We are also ATOL bonded and comply with the UK Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations.
Together, these affiliations give you full financial and legal protection for all bookings made through us. They also give you reassurance that we’ll be here to help you out if things go wrong.
These protections apply to all our customers, no matter your nationality or where you’re travelling from.
Complete peace of mind
Many of our customers save for years to visit Africa and want to make sure they travel with a reputable company. Especially if volunteering abroad raises concerns about scams, unmet promises or hidden risks.
So it’s good to know that ABTA membership is only offered to established and reliable companies that meet strict eligibility criteria. This means we have to:
- Be audited by an independent trade association to ensure we follow their code of conduct
- Offer full financial protection if your trip is affected by international travel restrictions or we go out of business
- Uphold the highest standards of service, ethics and professionalism at all times
- Share financial records and accounts with ABTA to prove we are financially stable and carry adequate insurance
- Ensure you receive accurate information, financial protection and assistance in case of issues during your trip
The mark of quality and reliability
As an ABTA member, we follow their strict code of conduct which promotes transparency and fairness in the way we operate and interact with our customers.
What the code means for you:
- Accuracy. We have to provide accurate information across our website, marketing, and during all interactions with customers, so you can make well-informed choices.
- High standards. If there is an issue that will seriously impair your travel plans - such as accommodation suddenly becoming unavailable - we will offer you an alternative of equal or greater value at no extra cost.
- Advice. We provide guidance for anything you need, including passports, visas and any requirements for entering a country.
- Accountability. ABTA offers independent help with any disputes, ensuring they are responded to in good time with the option of arbitration if required.
Financial protection
When you book through us, your whole trip is financially protected through either ATOL or through ABTA.
This means in the unlikely event your travel plans were affected by international travel restrictions like those seen during COVID, or we were to go out of business, you would be entitled to a full refund of the package price.
If you had already started your experience, then the transport back to the start point of the trip you booked with us would still be covered.
Legal protection and complaint resolution
As an ABTA member, we are bonded to operate within the legal framework of the UK Package Travel regulations. This means if you have a complaint or believe we haven’t fulfilled our legal obligations to you as a customer, you can contact ABTA’s complaints resolution service.
In the highly unlikely event that you have a dispute around our service, this gives you a fair process to resolve them with an independent organisation.
