My role at African Conservation Experience is to help manage the operations department, to build and maintain relationships with our projects, and to offer our volunteers pre-travel and in-country support.
After graduating from the University of Pretoria with a degree in International Relations, I spent 18 months working in the USA as an au pair, and upon completion of my contract, I returned to South Africa and began working at Nikon. It was here that I developed a love for photography, and worked in the customer service, marketing and sales departments. My professional journey then led me to join a photographic tour company for a number of years, where I focussed on arranging and executing group and private photography tours to various destinations worldwide, and also acted as the liaison for all guest and supplier correspondence.
I have always had a big love for animals and people. To work for African Conservation Experience, which focusses on ethical conservation efforts to preserve our beautiful wildlife, is such a privilege because it means that I form part of a wonderful initiative that protects Africa’s natural treasures. As John Hemingway once said, “If I have ever seen magic, it has been in Africa.” Never has there been a truer statement, and I would love to have our volunteers experience this magic, so much so, that they cannot wait to return!
In my spare time, I love to exercise, travel, spend time with my family and friends, read, take photos and indulge in crime shows or documentaries.
